Last week the U.S. Department of Education extended the pause on student loan repayment, interest, and collections until January 31, 2022. The Department indicated this would be the final extension granted, and borrowers will receive notices about this extension from their servicers.
This gives Federal student loan repayers additional time to enroll in a sustainable repayment plan and take advantage of the 0% interest rate to pay down their debt more quickly.
