The student loan interest deduction survived the final version of the GOP tax bill. You can still claim a deduction up to $2,500 per year on the student loan interest you paid.

The tax benefit applies to individuals earning less than $65,000 and married couples earning less than $165,000. Taxpayers can save up to $625 on their returns.
