Students, be aware — Direct Loans left me a message last week to call them for some information on my “student record.” When I called them, they said that they STILL HAD A LOAN THAT DID NOT BELONG THERE AND DID NOT GET TRANSFERRED TO MY NEW SERVICER. (See blog post dated…01/24/13). I asked them for the balance of this loan. They said it was A ZERO BALANCE. They were putting me on hold to find out why their system did not transfer this loan also…BE AWARE THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A NEW SERVICER IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT ALL YOUR LOANS ARE WITH THAT SERVICER.
