You are not required to submit your SSN to become a registered user of a Site. Access to and/or disclosure of your SSN is restricted to employees, agents, and authorized third parties who have a legitimate business need for access. We may disclose your SSN to other third parties as legally required.

6. IonTuition's Disclosure of Non-Identifiable Personal Information

IonTuition and The i3 Group may make anonymous or aggregate disclosure of your Non-Identifiable Information relating to your access or use of the Sites and Services to advertisers and other third parties for informational, marketing, or promotional purposes. Such disclosure may result from cookies, widgets, and beacons on a Site.

"Non-Identifiable Information" does not identify you individually. Access to your Registration Information, Account Credentials, Account Information, and any other Personal Information you provide is completely restricted and used in accordance with specific internal procedures and safeguards governing access to operate, develop, or improve the Services.

7. IonTuition's Use of Cookies and Other Technologies on the Sites

The Sites may include cookies, including "persistent cookies," and other user tracking technologies (e.g., local shared objects) ("Cookies"). Cookies are text files that are placed on your device (e.g., computer) to store your preferences or for other record-keeping purposes. Cookies, by themselves, do not tell IonTuition or its Service Providers your Personal Information unless you choose to provide this information to IonTuition by, for example, registering on the Sites. However, once you choose to furnish IonTuition with Personal Information, this information may be linked to the data stored in the Cookie. Generally, we encode our Cookies so that only we can interpret the information stored in them.

IonTuition may use Cookies that remain on your device even after you close your browser or application, to understand general Services usage and volume statistical information (which does not include Personal Information) and improve the content and offerings on the Sites. For example, IonTuition may use Cookies to keep track of and personalize your experience at the Sites (e.g., to recognize you by name when you return to a Site) and to save your password in password-protected areas. IonTuition also may use Cookies to offer you products, programs, or services. While most browsers are set to accept Cookies by default, you can set yours to refuse tracking devices or to alert you before accepting them. However, by disabling tracking devices, you may not have access to the entire set of features of the Services. Your browser manufacturer has information on changing the default setting for your specific browser.

The Sites may also incorporate widgets, which are interactive mini-programs that run on the Sites to provide specific services from another company (e.g., displaying news, opinions, music, etc.). Personal Information, such as your email address, may be collected through a widget. Cookies may be used in conjunction with the widgets. Information collected by a widget is governed by the privacy policy of the company that created it. Though information may be directly collected from you by a widget, no Personal Information will be provided directly by IonTuition to third parties via widgets.

IonTuition may also use other standard Internet technologies, such as web beacons and similar technologies, to track your use of the Sites or to track your response to email messages that IonTuition sends you in connection with the Sites. Web beacons (sometimes called transparent GIFs, clear GIFs, or web bugs) are small strings of code that provide a way for IonTuition to deliver a small graphic image (usually invisible) on a web page or in an email. Web beacons can recognize certain types of information on your computer such as Cookies, the time and date a page is viewed, and a description of the page where the web beacon is placed. IonTuition may use web beacons to improve your experience on the Sites, including to provide you with content customized to your interests and to understand whether users read email messages and click on links contained within those messages so that the Sites can deliver relevant content. IonTuition's web beacons may collect some contact information (for example, the email address associated with an email message that contains a web beacon). The Sites also may include third-party web beacons so that these third parties may receive auditing, research, and reporting information about advertisements viewed on the Sites.

We may use Service Providers to help us analyze certain online activities. For example, these Service Providers may help us measure the performance of our online campaigns or analyze visitor activity on the Sites. We may permit these Service Providers to use Cookies to perform these services for IonTuition.

There may be a number of separate products and services offered by third parties advertised by us on the Sites and through the Services that may be complementary to your use of the Sites, such as lenders, banks, credit card issuers, and brokerage institutions (collectively, "Site Offers"). If you choose to use these separate products or services, disclose information to the providers, or grant them permission to collect information about you, then their use of your information is governed by their privacy policies. You should evaluate the practices of external services providers before deciding to use their services. If you click on a link to a third party site, IonTuition encourages you to check the privacy policy of that site. IonTuition may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed and whether any action has been taken on a third party web site. We use this information to improve the quality of the Site Offers and customized content on the Sites.

Additionally, the Sites may contain links to other sites whose information practices may be different than ours. Visitors should consult the other sites' privacy notices, as IonTuition has no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.

10. Blogs and Other Forums on the Sites

If you use a bulletin board, blog, chat room, or similar public forums on a Site, you should be aware that any information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. The protections described in this Privacy Policy do not apply when you provide information (including Personal Information) in connection with your use of these public forums. We may use personally identifiable and Non-Identifiable Information about you to identify you with a posting you make in a public forum. 14. Email Communications From Us

From time to time, we may send you emails in connection with certain features of your account(s), such as reminders of the due dates of loan payments. We may also allow users to subscribe to email newsletters and from time to time may transmit emails promoting the Sites or third-party goods or services.

Users have the ability to opt-out of receiving our promotional emails and to terminate their newsletter subscriptions by following the instructions in the emails. Opting out in this manner will not end transmission of service-related emails, such as email alerts.

15. Security

When IonTuition or one of its Service Providers collects Personal Information directly from you, we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the submitted Personal Information. All personally identifiable and confidential information is segregated from other information and appropriate protection mechanisms are in place based on the criticality of the information being protected.
